H. P. Marketing & Consulting Wüst GmbH is a family-owned company with over 40 years of experience in developing jamming devices for global security markets.
As an ISO-certified NATO supplier with distribution in over 50 countries, the company operates under strict security and quality requirements. To ensure future operational readiness, its entire IT infrastructure is currently being modernized.
Status quo
The company’s previous IT infrastructure consisted of local servers, an outdated Exchange 2016 environment and no cloud-based directory services.
Office software versions varied, license models were inconsistent, and virtual environments were limited in scale. The lack of hybrid cloud integration made it difficult to modernize communication, administration and resource access efficiently.
The challenge
The goal was to build a scalable, secure and high-performing IT architecture.
Key challenges included synchronizing the existing Active Directory with Microsoft Entra ID, modernizing the Exchange environment with a hybrid setup, and rolling out Microsoft 365 across the organization. All changes had to be implemented without operational disruptions and with complete data integrity.
The solution
The new setup includes Windows Server 2025, running up to six virtual instances on a 24-core host.
Active Directory is now synchronized with Entra ID to enable secure access and user control via Microsoft 365. Office software was fully upgraded, and a hybrid email solution connects the local Exchange 2016 server with Exchange Online. The on-prem server now functions solely as an internal SMTP relay.
The result
The upgraded infrastructure enables stable operation, simplified administration and improved user access.
Employees benefit from current Office tools and seamless email workflows. Cloud services and local systems now work hand in hand via hybrid synchronization, offering the flexibility and reliability needed for a future-proof IT environment.
