The Nutritional Profiling System (NPS) aims to deliver evidence-based solutions for food composition and sustainability.

Using structured data and modern analysis methods, the Nutrition Department set out to become a leading source for nutritional consulting – offering insights for producers, retailers, advisors and consumers. The system focuses on nutrient impact, classification and scientific validation across food categories.

Status quo

Before the project, nutrient data from ON and OFF markets existed in large volumes but lacked consistency, standardization and scientific interpretation.

There was no centralized framework for comparing nutritional value or supporting product reformulation. The absence of validated clustering tools made it difficult to assess food impact on health, and limited the development of data-driven recommendations for consumers and industry.

The challenge

The goal was to create a system capable of collecting, standardizing and analyzing nutrient data across a broad range of products.

The challenge lay in comparing highly diverse food types – including ultra-processed items and enriched foods – while integrating scientific metrics like NRF-3 and Nutri-Score. The system also needed to generate archetype-based clusters and enable evidence-based assessments of health impact and cost reduction through improved nutrition.

The solution

CONVOTIS developed a platform that aggregates, validates and clusters nutrient data using archetype modeling, predictive analytics and regulatory benchmarks.

The system combines Nutri-Score, NRF-3 indicators and consumption archetypes to compare products and identify reformulation opportunities. Scientific and legal standards are embedded into a central data model that supports nutrition tracking, benchmarking and market positioning for industry stakeholders.

The result

The project led to measurable business impact: reduced healthcare costs, improved nutrition awareness and increased product revenues.

By quantifying cost savings from eliminating low-nutrient foods, companies gained new insights into health economics. Archetype-based clustering enables manufacturers to refine product lines and reformulate for better health outcomes. The platform also supports consumer communication with transparent, data-driven recommendations.
