Gymnasium Rotherbaum is a general secondary school with a forward-looking educational approach.
To improve digital communication with students, parents and staff, the school’s website was redesigned from the ground up. The goal was a modern, accessible WordPress platform with intuitive navigation, responsive layout and the ability to display creative visual content.
Status quo
The previous school website was outdated in terms of design, usability and maintenance.
Content was hard to find, mobile support was lacking, and editorial updates required technical assistance. The interface was not accessible, and the layout failed to reflect the school’s educational vision or meet the needs of its user groups.
The challenge
The project required a maintainable, user-friendly and visually clear platform that could address the needs of students, parents and staff.
Key requirements included barrier-free interface design, responsive layout, simplified content updates and calendar integration. The platform also had to support independent content editing and modern web standards.
The solution
The new school website was developed using WordPress with Elementor for visual implementation.
All content can be managed by the school team. The UI design complies with accessibility standards. SVG animations, responsive layouts and an integrated ICS calendar support usability. Hosting, maintenance and training were also part of the project scope.
The result
Gymnasium Rotherbaum now operates a barrier-free, responsive website that is visually appealing and easy to maintain.
With animated elements, modern layout and intuitive structure, the platform enhances school communication and visibility while enabling independent editorial control.
