Nordic Film Days Lübeck is one of the leading film festivals for Nordic and Baltic cinema in the German-speaking world.
The event combines cultural diversity with international reach. To meet modern expectations for accessibility, usability and editorial flexibility, the festival’s digital platform was fully redeveloped – with multilingual content management and expanded search capabilities.
Status quo
The previous website lacked modern functionality and design. Navigation was not accessible, content was difficult to find, and editorial processes were inefficient.
No structured archive was available, and the system did not support multilingual content. Technical integration of ticket services or real-time updates was not possible, limiting the site’s flexibility and scalability.

Content can be categorized by media and user group. A smart search with filtering and personalization, a long-term data archive and integrations for program, ticketing and updates were implemented. The system allows flexible content maintenance and ensures usability across devices.

The festival now has a robust digital presence with editorial control, barrier-free access and multilingual structure.
