The municipality of Ammersbek is a local authority in Schleswig-Holstein that provides residents with a comprehensive range of administrative and information services.
The launch of a new official website has fundamentally modernised the council’s digital communications. The aim was to create a high-performance, future-proof web platform that presents information in a clearly structured manner and provides residents with easy access to local services.
Status quo
The existing website was to be replaced by a modern platform that meets both the organisational and editorial requirements of the local authority.
At the same time, the new website should offer a clear information structure and present content in such a way that residents can find relevant information quickly and intuitively. A consistent presentation across different devices was also required.
The challenge
The new website had to meet the requirements of modern local government online services, both functionally and technically. In addition to intuitive navigation, the focus was on fast loading times, a clear information architecture and a high level of user-friendliness.
At the same time, the platform was to be fully accessible and enable the reliable integration of municipal services, so that citizens could quickly identify the relevant departments and contact persons.
The solution
CONVOTIS developed a new website based on WordPress, featuring a customised template architecture built on the Bootscore theme.
The front end was specifically designed to ensure an optimal user experience across desktop, tablet and smartphone devices. In addition, an interface to the Competence Finder (ZUFISH) was integrated, enabling citizens to quickly find the relevant authorities and contact persons for their enquiries. The platform combines a clear information structure with modern web technology and supports efficient content management by the local council.

With its new website, the municipality of Ammersbek now has a modern digital platform for providing information to residents and delivering local services.
