MENNEKES Elektrotechnik GmbH & Co. KG faced the challenge of modernizing its IT system. As a specialist in IT solutions and system upgrades, CONVOTIS supported this endeavor. The remotely conducted upgrade project began with a detailed concept for the system transfer and the commissioning of a new archive server (OpenText Archive Center). CONVOTIS opted for a fresh installation instead of an in-place upgrade, renewing the virtual servers, operating systems and the database system. After a successful installation and data transfer, all existing data was integrated into the new system and thoroughly checked.
The upgrade included approximately 9 million documents in three content repositories and was completed in less than three months. In addition to the archive server upgrade, CONVOTIS also assisted with the update of the scan clients. MENNEKES has been using the OpenText archive for years for the revision-secure storage of documents, connected via the ArchiveLink interface to the SAP system.
